Visa Notification
Those entering either Zambia or Zimbabwe only need one visa to visit both countries. This applies to 40 countries who currently need a visa. The borders where this applies is Lusaka and Livingstone Airports, Victoria Falls, Kazangula entry points. The visa costs $50 and lasts a month.

- Yellow Fever Certificate
- Airtel sim card
- Battery chargers and cables
- Insect repellent
- Weather related clothing (see When to visit)
- Warm Jacket, woolly hat and gloves for June, July and August
- Muted, natural colours for walking safaris
- Adapters for UK style plugs
- Lip Balm
- Moisturizer
- Correct visa money
- Zambian Kwacha or debit or credit cards

From Lusaka:
From Lumumba Road in Lusaka take the Great West Road towards Mumbwa. From here continue until you’ve travelled 250 kms from Lusaka, driving past the turnoff for Mumbwa and continuing on through the park gates at Nalusanga. Just after the second set of speed bumps inside the park, slow down until you see the sign “Mayukuyuku Camp”. Turn right onto a dirt road. Continue until you see another sign to Mayukuyuku Camp on your right (approximately 6kms). GPS co-ordinates for the turning off the tarmac road are 14º 57´.4 S and 26º 05´.3 E
From the West:
Cross the Kafue Hook Bridge going from West to East and continue for 14 kms after the bridge. Turn left onto a dirt road by our sign and continue for a further 2 kms until you reach the sign to Mayukuyuku Camp. The GPS co-ordinates for the turn off the main road are 14º 57´.2 S and 26º 02´.4 E
The camp is accessible in two wheel drive vehicles.
When to visit Mayukuyuku
Jan, Feb, March:
green season, showers, warm 20° to 25° Good for all species especially Wild Dog. January: Pels Fishing Owl, March: Sable. Will need light raincoat, closed boots. Fishing “catch & release” in Jan & February. Excellent birding.
April & May:
23° to 27° Good for all species, especially Sable. Warm weather clothes, plus a fleece in May.
June, July, August:
Winter, cool and dry 14° to 20°. Good for all species. Otters. Ski Jacket, woolly hat, gloves on game drives, Excellent light for photography.
Sept, Oct:
hot months 25° to 35°. Good for all species including Wild Dog. Not good for Sable till late Oct. Summer clothing. Wildlife comes to the river.
Nov – Dec:
short showers 20° to 35°. Good for all species, Sable, Wild Dog. Excellent birding and walking. Light raincoat, closed boots. Excellent for photography – landscape very green. Baby animals. December: good fishing, catch & release only.
